Fanshawe College Signs Deal With Peru Institute

Fanshawe College has signed a four-year agreement to work with an institute in Peru.

The deal with the Armed Forces Public Technological Institute of Peru will see Fanshawe provide an intensive leadership program in Canada to the institute’s leaders and academics. They will then take the module back to Peru and train 55 additional faculty members.

“This new agreement will have a significant impact on international relations for post-secondary education between our two countries,” says Fanshawe President Peter Devlin. “Our partnership with Peru allows Fanshawe to broaden its global reach to new geographic areas of opportunity.”

Devlin, inked the deal at the Peru Government Palace on July 22.

Graduates of the institute will also receive a diploma from Fanshawe and credentials from the college for each year they complete their program.

The Armed Forces Public Technological Institute of Peru opened in June 2015. Soldiers, under the age of 30, who have completed two years of voluntary military services in Peru can study at the institute at no cost in areas such as industrial electronics, information sciences, civil construction, industrial mechanics, and automotive mechanics.
