Police Seek Teen Who Was Offered Ride

Days after a Mitchell teen was offered a ride to school by a stranger, provincial police are looking to speak to a second teen about a similar incident in London.

Perth OPP say a report was made about a man offering a ride to a young woman who was walking in the area of Dundas St. near Veterans Memorial Parkway in London around 4:30pm Monday.

Police are concerned the incident may be connected to one last Friday in which a teenage girl was offered a ride by a man as she walked to school.

The man asked the girl if she wanted a ride, as she was going to be late for school. He then claimed to have just spoken with her father on the phone. Police say the girl turned down the ride and continued walking but the man watched her for sometime after that. She arrived safely to school.

The man is described as white, 30-40-years-old, with black curly hair. He was wearing black wrap-around sunglasses and a light shirt. The man was driving a black older model, four door car with a silver strip near the doors. The car also had tinted windows.

Police are asking the woman who was spoken to in London or anyone else who may have witnessed the incident to call OPP Detective Constable Kalmusky at 519-393-6123 Ext. 3343, or London police at 519-661-5670.
