City Hall Extends Business Hours

Londoners will no longer have to rush to make it to city hall during regular business hours.

As of May 30, city hall will expand its hours to include mornings, evenings and Saturdays in ten departments. Services being offered outside of the traditional hours of operation include the issuing of building permits and marriage licences, as well as taking bookings for civil marriage ceremonies, and job interviews.

“This will provide better customer service for Londoners,” says Art Zuidema, city manager. “Residents will have more access to service. The City will constantly monitor and adjust the program so it meets the needs of Londoners.”

Historically, the public could only take advantage of city hall services Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Expanding the hours was a point of contention with the city's inside workers during last year's contract negotiations .

The full list of services, locations and times is available on the city’s website at www.london.ca/hours or by calling 519-661-4500.
