Police Still Looking For Shooting Suspects

Police have now confirmed Sunday's lockdown of a northeast London street was connected to the search for two shooting suspects.

Officers in full tactical gear surrounded a house at 99 Cecilia Ave. near Cheapside St. and Highbury Ave. around 11am. They were searching for 26-year-old William Dwayne MacDonald and 25-year-old Samater Ali, the suspects wanted in the shooting of a man who was found in a parking lot at 198 John St. early Friday morning.

Officers closed Cecilia Ave. and told residents to stay indoors as they took up positions around the house. Police finally entered the home around 3:30pm, emerging a short time later without a suspect in custody. The street was reopened around 4:30pm.

MacDonald and Ali are charged with aggravated assault, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and discharging a firearm with intent to qound/endanger life. The victim of the shooting is still in critical condition in hospital.

Police say anyone who sees MacDonald or Ali should not approach them as they are considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately.
