OPP Charge 80 In Province-Wide Child Exploitation Sweep

Eighty people face a total of 274 charges in a multi-jurisdictional OPP investigation targeting those who sexually exploit children online.

Three people from London and one from St. Thomas have been arrested, two Windsor residents were caught in the bust and Chatham-Kent police executed three search warrants.

Police say nine people, some underage, were rescued from human trafficking rings across the province. A total of 20 victims have been identified and offered supports in their respective cities.

Investigators say the youngest offender identified was 10 years old and that the ages, sexualization, and advance technology use of all involved is incredibly alarming.

Below is a list of those charged in London, Chatham-Kent and Windsor.

London:

Gary Siegfriend, 22 -Two counts of distribution of child pornography -Two counts of non-consensual distribution of intimate images -Assault -Threats to cause death or bodily harm

Andrew Gillis, 27 -Making child pornography available -Possession of child pornography -Accessing child pornography

Nigel Vossen, 26 -Making child pornography available -Voyeurism under 16 -Two counts of taking voyeuristic material available -Making child pornography -Possession of child pornography

St. Thomas: 

Sean Powloss, 29 -Five counts of possession of child pornography -Four counts of making child pornography available -Accessing child pornography

Chatham-Kent: 

Shannon Mathewson, 45 -Luring a person under 16 -Making sexually explicit material available to a child

James Johnston, 52 -Possession of child pornography -Distribution of child pornography

Unnamed, 54 -Possession of child pornography -Accessing child pornography -Making child pornography available

Windsor:

Marc Oliver, 23 -Possession of child pornography

Michael Smith, 24 -Possession of child pornography -Accessing child pornography

Police are urging all parents to monitor their children's online activity closely and talk to them about the dangers of online predators.
