London Gets $1.1-Million in Slots Revenue

Another $1.1-million in gaming revenue has been poured into London's coffers.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) made its third-quarter non-tax gaming revenue payment to the city Thursday.

The city received $1,123,668 for hosting the OLG Slots at Western Fair District between October to December. Since September 1999, the OLG has paid London more than $63.2-million for the gaming facility.

“The revenues generated by OLG gaming sites allow municipalities to invest in local priorities like infrastructure," says Deb Matthews, MPP for London North Centre. "These funds also help Ontario families by supporting important public services like health care and education.”

The payments are based on an equitable formula in the Municipality Contribution Agreement and work on an escalating scale of gaming revenue that is consistent across all sites in Ontario.
