A London man is facing animal cruelty charges after a cat was so severely injured, it had to be euthanized.
The London Humane Society says its investigators were recently alerted to suspicious circumstances surrounding a cat with life-threatening injuries.
A cat was then removed from a home and immediately taken for care from a veterinarian. However, because of the severity of its injuries, it was humanely put to death.
Jeffrey Hillier, 22, is charged with causing distress to an animal, permitting distress, failing to provide necessary care, and failing to comply with an Ontario S.P.C.A. act order.
Hillier will appear in court in January.
