Police Search For Second Federal Offender

The provincial police repeat offender parole enforcement squad is searching for the second federal offender to leave a Windsor half-way house in a week.

Police say Shawn Desrosiers, 41, didn't return when he was supposed to, and have now issued a Canada wide arrest warrant.

He was staying at the same half-way house as another inmate that walked away last week, according to Constable Steve Sermet.

"It happens once in a while," Sermet says. "They have certain conditions that they have to sign in and sign out. Some fail to return for some unknown reason."

Desrosiers is currently serving a two year sentence for several break and enters committed in Windsor, Leamington, Sarnia, London, Stratford and Ottawa. Police believe he could be in any of those communities.

He's described as 6’2”, 176lbs, with brown eyes and salt and pepper hair. He has a scar on his head and a tattoo of a bulldog on his right forearm.

Anyone having contact with this offender or information in regards to their whereabouts is asked to contact the Provincial ROPE Squad at 416-808-5900 or toll free at 1-866-870-ROPE (7673) or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or call 9-1-1.
