Police Identify Baby Boy Killed In Crash

Police have identified the victims of a serious two-vehicle collision that claimed the life of a four-month-old baby boy in Central Elgin.

The Ontario Provincial Police says on Wednesday around 7pm, a Chevy pick-up truck failed stop at a stop sign at Yarmouth Centre Rd. and Ron McNeil Line, colliding with an silver Dodge SUV. The pickup t-boned the SUV, forcing both vehicles into a ditch.

The infant has been identified as four-month-old Carstyn Tremblett of London.  The boy was in a rear-facing car seat in the back seat of the SUV behind the driver at the time of the collision. He was taken to hospital in critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the pick-up truck, 68-year-old Robert Duncan from Malahide Township, was transported to hospital, where he remains listed in stable condition.

The driver of the SUV, 35-year-old Valerie Hurley of London, was taken to hospital, where she remains listed in serious condition.

John Tremblett, 33, of London, was seated in the rear seat on the passenger side of the SUV during the crash. He was transported to hospital, where he remains listed in critical condition.

Police say the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
