Police Investigating Dog Bite

Police are looking for the owner of a pit bull after it attacked and bit a woman on Oxford St. in London.

The London Police Service says on Saturday between 3pm and 4pm, a 49-year-old woman was walking on the north sidewalk of Oxford St. just west of Cherryhill Blvd., when the dog jumped and bit the woman on her chin. The dog was with its owner and on a leash at the time.

The owner said nothing and continued walking after the woman was attacked. He was last seen in front of Cherryhill Mall.

The woman had to be treated for minor injuries in hospital.

The owner is is described as white male, in his 20s, 5'5" tall, with a slim build and blonde short hair. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and carrying a guitar.

The dog is described as a muscular pit bull with a solid reddish brown colour.

Police are asking for the handler of the dog to come forward to provide vaccination records.
