As students head back school, police in London will be launching Project LEARN once again.
The London Police Service says Project LEAR.N (Liquor Enforcement and Reduction of Noise) will run until September 26 and will focus on downtown London as well as the neighbourhoods around Western University and Fanshawe College.
Police officials say officers will be adding extra patrols and will apply "a balanced approach with enforcement of by-laws and warnings, where appropriate, relating to parties, parking, open fires, noise, litter, and public urination."
Last year during Project LEARN, police laid 105 charges, however, only 15% of the people charged were students.
As well in 2014, a total of 1,422 tickets were issued for offences such as urinating in public, having open alcohol in public and drinking in public. Of those, 853 were issued to students.
