UPDATE: Charges Laid After Man Stabbed In Chest

One man has now facing a slew of charges after another man was stabbed on Richmond Row in London.

The London Police Service says on Saturday around 1:20am, officers responded to the area of Richmond St. and Central Ave. to discover a 23-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to his chest.

Police say the attacker fled the scene before police arrived, but a suspect was later located and arrested in the area.

The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries. He has since undergone surgery and is expected to make a full recovery.

There are no further suspects outstanding, according to police, and the victim and the accused are not known to each other.

Tyrone Ifabumuya, 19, of London has now been charged with the following offences:

  • Aggravated assault.
  • Two counts of assault with a weapon.
  • Two counts of uttering death threats.
  • Resisting arrest.
  • Weapons dangerous.
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon.
  • Possession of marijuana.
Ifabumuya appeared in court on Saturday and was remanded into custody.
