After a soggy several hours in the London area, Environment Canada has lifted the rainfall warning it issued on Tuesday.
The warning was put in place as the remnants of Hurricane Patricia moved into southwestern Ontario. Forecasters warned of heavy downpours that could total up to 55 mm of rain by the end of Wednesday.
The warning was lifted for London, Middlesex County, St. Thomas, and Elgin County just before 1:30pm Wednesday. As of the early afternoon, it remained in effect in Oxford and Brant counties.
Strong winds are still a concern though. A wind warning is still in effect for St. Thomas and Elgin County.
Environment Canada says winds are expected to gust up to 80 km/h on Wednesday and up to 90 km/h on Thursday.
