TVDSB Announces United Way Goal

After surpassing its goal last year, the Thames Valley District School Board has set another ambitious fundraising goal for this year's United Way campaign.

The board announced Tuesday morning that students and staff hope to raise $357,000 for the United Way of London and Middlesex, Elgin-St. Thomas United Way, and United Way Oxford.

“When people work together toward a goal, the results are truly amazing,” says Superintendent Don Macpherson. “Through shared leadership, our United Way will build a stronger community and continue to improve the quality of life for everyone in Thames Valley.”

Last year, donations to the board's campaign amounted to more than $366,000.

Several events have been scheduled at schools in the Thames Valley Board, including the United Way Football Tournament, StairClimb. Donations will also come from employee payroll deductions.

For the 2015 campaign, United Way London & Middlesex has set a goal of $9.1-million, while United Way Oxford hopes to raise $1.2-million, and United Way Elgin-St. Thomas has set a goal of $475,000.
