Buckle Up, Phone Down Contest Winners Announced

A Grade 11 student who made a stop-motion film using Lego is the winner of the "Buckle Up, Phone Down" video contest.

Aaron-John Williams' video, which uses lego characters to highlight the dangers of texting while driving, was selected as the top submission by the London Middlesex Road Safety Committee in its contest to promote safe driving to teens in the area.

The Saunders Secondary School student was awarded a $1,000 gift certificate for Young Drivers of Canada and a $100 gift Cineplex Media gift certificate, donated by the CAA.

His video will also be shown through the London Health Sciences Centre's "Impact" program.

The runner-up submission was from Jack Wraight, a recent graduate of Catholic Central High School.

Linda Ly, a recent graduate of A.B. Lucas, took third prize.
