OPP and London police are hoping the public can help them find a woman who has been on the run for 17 years.
Police say some new information leads them to believe that Cheryl Gannon, 55, has been living under an assumed name and may have recently been in the London area.
Gannon was the subject of a parole warrant in 1998, when she was serving a three year sentence for multiple offences. In 2003, London police issued a warrant for her arrest on charges of uttering death threats and mischief.
According to the RCMP's web site, she threatened to kill her ex-boyfriend and destroyed property belonging to him while she was serving her three year sentence.
Provincial police say Gannon has been known to spend time in London, Woodstock, Belleville, Oshawa, Sault Ste. Marie, and Kingston.
She has been known to use the following aliases:
- Cassandra Blackwood
- Cheryl Hann
- Cheryl Vandergott
- Cheryl Ellen Gannon
- Cheryl Ellen Leenders
- Cheryl Ellen Leendes
- Lindsay Macdonald
- Michelle Bennett
- Michelle Hann
- Michelle White
A reward of $500 has been offered by Crime Stoppers for any information that leads to her arrest. Anyone with any information is asked to call the OPP ROPE squad at 416-808-5900 or toll free at 1-866-870-ROPE or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
Police say you should not try to approach Gannon on your own.
