Police Seeking 3-5 Suspects In Sammy's Souvlaki Assault

London police say they are looking for three to five suspects in connection with the assault of Sotirios (Sammy) Cardabikis, owner of Sammy's Souvlaki.

The 62-year-old was hospitalized in critical condition on Sunday, after he was viciously beaten during a robbery of his Trafalgar St. location. His condition has since been upgraded to fair.

An employee was also beaten and has been treated at hospital and released.

Police say the suspects assaulted Cardabikis and his employee, stole an undisclosed amount of cash, and took off.

Constable Ken Steeves says investigators are hoping the public can help them identify the suspects.

"We're hoping that anyone who has any information at all in relation to this incident will contact police," says Steeves. "Often, people think police already know what they know or the little bit of information they have isn't worth sharing with police. So, we're certainly encouraging anyone with any information to come forward."
