Striking City Workers Picket Day Before Ratification Vote

Striking inside city workers remain on the picket lines ahead of tomorrow's ratification vote.

CUPE Local 101 and the city reached a tentative agreement over the weekend as the strike neared the 60 day mark.

Union members will vote on the new deal Wednesday at the Western Fair District, starting at 10am.

Officials say there will be no picketing that day, but strike pay will be available for all of those who sign in and vote. It must be done in person.

About 750 inside city workers have been off the job since early May.

Details of the new collective agreement remain under wraps until it is voted on.
