Labatt Park Turns Purple Friday Night

The London Majors are turning purple again in support of the London Abused Women's Centre.

On Friday July 10 for their game against the Guelph Royals, the Majors will wear purple jerseys to help raise awareness about violence against women.

And in an attempt to heal the rift between the two sides in the inside workers' contract dispute, the London Majors are offering complimentary tickets to all CUPE 101 Members and City Managers.

Scott Dart, co-owner of the Majors says, “We want to help those that are affected by the current labour situation and that this is an opportunity to enjoy a relaxing day at the ballpark in support of a great community organization – LAWC.”

Fans are asked to wear purple and take the opportunity to help LAWC raise funds by bidding on the custom made, player-signed purple jerseys and a signed team bat.

Everyone who buys a ticket to the game before Wednesday, July 8, 4pm, will have their name entered in a draw for the chance to throw the opening pitch at the game. ’

Tickets are available at the London Abused Women’s Centre at 519-432-2204 or info@lawc.on.ca. Tickets are $8.00 for adults, $6.00 for children, students & seniors.
