PC Leadership Voting Begins

Members of Ontario's Progressive Conservative Party start voting to elect a new leader today.

More than 76,000 members are eligible to cast a ballot.

Voting is open from 11am-5pm today and then again on Thursday from 3pm-9pm. A winner will be announced on Saturday, May 9 in Toronto.

Both Deputy PC Leader Christine Elliott and Barrie MP Patrick Brown are vying for the leadership.

Initially there were five people looking to represent the PCs. Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Monte McNaughton was the last one to drop out of the race in April.

Elliott is the widow of former finance minister Jim Flaherty and Brown has served three terms in federal politics as the representative for Barrie.

Former PC Leader Tim Hudak stepped down after last year's election.
