The talents of over a thousand Thames Valley high school students will be on display at Budweiser Gardens Thursday night.
The annual "Variety Is..." concert, sponsored by Free 98-1 and London Life, gets underway at 7:30pm.
The show will feature orchestras, bands, and choirs from public high schools across the region. Students will play music ranging from Beethoven compositions to music from the movie "Titanic."
Sir Wilfred Laurier Secondary music teacher and show spokesman Shawn Chabot says the concert gives students the chance to play in a "professional" venue.
"The students often come back to us saying, 'wow, I got to perform in the same space as my favourite artist' whether it be a pop artist or a sports icon," says Chabot. "They definitely get that sense that this is a huge venue."
Every secondary school music department within the Thames Valley District School Board was invited to have an ensemble perform in the concern.
Tickets are available at the door. They are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
Last year, over 1,000 people came to the show.
