London Clean And Green Community Day

Londoners are being asked to clean up their front lawns, community parks and boulevards today as part of the tenth annual Clean and Green program.

Today marks the city-wide community clean-up day.

"After six months (of snow) you find all sorts of litter on the ground, ranging from paper products to plastic bottles to paper cups. You then also find items like scrap metal, you do actually find the kitchen sink. It shouldn't be on the ground, they all have homes," says London's Manager of Solid Waste Jay Stanford. "It's a great way, in a short period of time, to help get London ready for the spring ahead."

You can visit one of the following locations between 9am-10am to get supplies, such as gloves and garbage bags.

  • Canada Games Aquatic Centre (Wonderland Rd. N of Lawson Rd.)
  • Springbank Park (across from Shoppers)
  • Market square (Talbot St. & King St.)
  • Hendrix Restaurant Supply (Dundas St. at Rectory)
  • Home Depot (SE corner of parking lot near Fanshawe Park Rd. and Adelaide)
  • RONA Moffatt & Powell (Hyde Park Rd. N of Sarnia Rd.)
  • South London Community Pool (Bradley and Jalna Blvd.)
  • Argyle Arena (Wavell St. east of Clarke Rd.)
