Food Truck Pilot Project Moves Forward

Food trucks in London inched ahead with a unanimous yes vote at city council on Tuesday night, but there are still a few curbs to jump before they're allowed to roll out in a pilot project.

City staff will now work on a report that will outline rules and regulations for food trucks in the city. Note that this step was already completed last year, before the food truck concept was tossed altogether.

The next vote is expected on February 18, which gives staff three weeks to set parameters for the eateries on wheels. Previously, proposed rules included staying 50 m from homes and restaurants and disallowing them from setting up shop on Richmond St.  Councillors expect to hear plenty of feedback, both for and against the idea, prior to voting on a summer pilot project.
