HIV/AIDS Organizations Merge

The Regional HIV/AIDS Connection is merging with the John Gordon Home in an effort to strengthen services for those struggling with the disease.

The two organization will be governed by one board, share administrative staff, programs and services as of April 1, 2015.

Each will continue to operate at their current locations and staffing levels will remain as-is.

Executive Director of the Regional HIV/AIDS Connection Brian Lester will run the new organization, supported by John Gordon Home Executive Director Bruce Rankin.

“We are aware of the need to be collaborative and efficient in the changing landscape of health care . Combined we have over 50 years of knowledge, experience and compassion for people living with or at risk for illnesses associated with HIV," says Lester. "This amalgamation positions us well for both the challenges and opportunities in our future”.

RHAC is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and the John Gordon Home is approaching its 25th year.

The RHAC provides education on the disease, preventative measures and management while the John Gordon Home provides respite and palliative care.

About 30% of people with HIV do not know they have it.
