London Couple Pleads Guilty To Animal Cruelty

A London couple has plead guilty to four counts of animal cruelty after starving three dogs, one to death.

The London Humane Society was called to the home of Linda Abbott and Ethan Clipperton on December 4, 2013.

When investigators arrived they found three dogs in extremely poor physical condition, one requiring immediate medical attention. The owners were ordered to have the pets examined by a veterinarian for their poor conditions.

They refused to hand the pets over to the humane society and told investigators they would take the animals to the vet themselves.

After following up on the order, the humane society learned the two did not take the dogs to see a vet and as a result, one of the dogs had died.

The other two were then taken from the home by the humane society.

“Both dogs were extremely emaciated when they were brought in,” says Executive Director Judy Foster. “In time, both were able to recover and we are happy to share that both Oliver and Kolbie have both been adopted into their forever homes.”

Abbott, 44, is banned from living with, owning or caring for any animals for life.

Clipperton, 50, faces a ten year probation from living with, owning or caring for any animals.
