Police Briefs – Thursday May 18, 2017

Several break and enters in Chatham-Kent are under investigation.

Police say since Monday, May 15, 13 break and enters have been reported.

They say these incidents occur more often when the nice weather arrives and continue to remind citizens to lock their house and car doors and not announce travel plans or absence from home on social media or on their phone’s voicemail.

They also say if you’re going on vacation or an extended absence, ask a trusted neighbour to watch your house and make your home looks lived-in.

All basement and ground-level windows and patio doors should also be secured.
