Police Briefs – Monday, May 8, 2017

Police are trying to track down an ATV that was stolen from a residence in the Ridgetown area.

The red 2006 200cc Polaris was taken sometime over the past week.

Police say thieves cut a padlock on a chain that was securing the ATV.


Two vehicles were broken into at businesses in Chatham over the weekend.

Police say a window was smashed in one vehicle. Missing items include prescription glasses and sunglasses, personal documents, and paperwork.

A Magellan GPS and Sirius Satellite receiver worth $300 were stolen from another vehicle.


Police are also investigating after two unlocked vehicles in Chatham were broken into.

Police say change was taken from both vehicles, along with a Pioneer stereo faceplate, worth about $300.

One of the vehicles was scratched in the process, causing $500 in damage.


No one was injured in an car crash on Union Line in Chatham Township on Sunday night.

Police have charged a Leamington man with making an unsafe turn.
