Allegedly attacking an ex-boyfriend has landed a Wallaceburg woman with assault charges.

Just before midnight on Tuesday, police say the woman went to a home in Wallaceburg where she knew her ex would be. When he opened the door, she allegedly charged at him and started assaulting him. She then fled in a waiting car.

Officers learned during their investigation that she had allegedly assaulted her ex-boyfriend two other times but he never reported it to police.

A warrant was issued and the 20-year-old woman was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with three counts of assault.


An attempted break and enter in Chatham was thwarted when the owner came home.

Police say the homeowner found a strange man standing in between the storm door and main door of his home on Grand Ave. E. when he got home Thursday afternoon.

The suspect was wearing plastic bags over his shoes and appeared to be trying to get into the house.

The homeowner called police and the 33-year-old was arrested after he was unable to explain to the officer what he was doing at the home.
