Police Briefs – Saturday April 15, 2017

A Wallaceburg woman started off her Saturday morning with a scare.

Chatham-Kent police were called about a stolen vehicle around 2am.

Police say the woman started her car and then left it unattended.

The vehicle was found shortly after on a nearby street.

A 44-year-old Dover Township man has been arrested for impaired driving following a crash on Friday night.

The crash happened in Dover around 6pm.

Police say they found a man trapped under one of the vehicles. While being extracted from the vehicle, police noticed that the man was impaired.

The 44-year-old was taken to the CKHA for a breath test, which showed that he was over two times the legal limit.

He was then charged with impaired driving and driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in the blood. He has since been released from custody with a future court date.

Police have arrested a Chatham man for impaired driving.

On Friday, just after 9pm, police say they initiated a traffic stop after getting a complaint about the driver.

A 55-year-old Chatham man was arrested and take to headquarters for a breath test.

The Chatham man was charged with impaired driving and driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in his system.

A 29-year-old Chatham man has been arrested for making threats.

On Friday around 5pm, police say the man went to a Chatham residence and made threats towards another man and his property.

As a result, he was arrested and charged with two counts of uttering threats.
