Police Briefs – Thursday April 13, 2017

A man and woman from Chatham are charged with arson, following two separate fires at a Richmond St. car dealership in March.

Police say the fires were deliberately set in the parking lot of Campbell Toyota sometime overnight. The fire caused over $110,000 in damage to four vehicles, including two torched pick-up trucks.

Through investigation, officers learned how the fires were set, and were able to identify two suspects.

A 27-year-old man and 26-year-old woman were arrested Wednesday night.

The suspect in a failed armed robbery at a gas station in Dresden has been arrested.

A 25-year-old Thamesville man was charged with robbery early Thursday morning, in relation to an incident on St. George St., Monday afternoon.

Police say a man walked into Gabby’s Express Gas pointing a weapon and demanded cash from an employee. But he left empty handed.

There were no injuries.
