Police Briefs – Saturday March 18, 2017

Chatham-Kent police are looking into a break-in at a warehouse on Queen’s Line near Chatham.

Officers were called to the warehouse Friday night around 9:30pm, after a neighbour reported footprints at the vacant property.

Police say the building wasn’t secure and believe that more than one person broke into the warehouse.

It’s unknown whether or not anything was taken from the property.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Cindy Schlarbaum at [email protected] or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

A 43-year-old Tilbury woman has been arrested after passing out in the driver’s seat while the vehicle was still running.

Police say around 8:45pm on Friday, the woman was found passed out in her vehicle located on Queen St. North in Tilbury.

Once police determined she was intoxicated the woman was arrested and taken to police headquarters.

A breath test showed that the woman had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in her system.

The 43-year-old woman was released from custody with a future court date.
