Police Briefs – Wednesday, March 15, 2017

A police chase in the Wallaceburg area that involved a stolen vehicle from Windsor, has resulted in two women facing charges.

An officer spotted a vehicle speeding south on St. Clair Rd. just after 12:30pm Tuesday afternoon. Police tried to stop the vehicle several times, but the driver refused to pull over.

As the vehicle headed into Wallaceburg, the officer followed from a distance until two other officers arrived to help stop the vehicle.

A 30-year-old Chatham woman and a 26-year-old woman of no fixed address have been charged with possession of stolen property and flight from police.


Chatham-Kent police are reminding motorists to adjust how they drive to the weather conditions, after responding to 17 collisions in the past 24 hours.

A pair of unrelated break and enters are being investigated.

Sometime between Monday and Tuesday this week, police say two bicycles and a golf club were stolen from a garage on Teal Dr. in Blenheim.

Officers were also called to a barn in Merlin on Talbot Trail near Merlin Rd. after it was discovered someone stole three drills sometime between Saturday and Monday.
