Police Briefs – Sunday March 12, 2017

A 19-year-old Chatham man has been caught trying to sell a stolen item on Kijiji.

Chatham-Kent police say tools and welders were reported stolen on March 6. During their investigation one of the items was found posted for sale on Kijiji.

Police set up a meeting and determined it was the same item from the break-in.

The 19-year-old was arrested and released with a a court date.

A Chatham man has been charged following a dispute between neighbours.

Police say during the dispute, the man struck a female, knocking one of her teeth out.

He was charged with assault on a male and assault causing bodily harm to a female.

A 21-year-old Tilbury woman has been charged for breaching her conditions.

Police say the woman was released on several conditions in February after being arrested and charged with assault and breaching her conditions.

On Sunday, police found the woman out past her curfew and could smell alcohol on her breath.

She was arrested and charged on two counts of failing to comply.
