Police Briefs – Sunday, January 1, 2017

A couple of people had been arrested New Year’s Eve for being intoxicated in public.

On Saturday night around 7:30pm, Chatham-Kent police were called about an intoxicated man in the area of Harvey St. in Chatham.

Police say the man was not able to take care of himself. As a result, he had been arrested and taken to headquarters.

The 54-year-old Windsor man has been charged with being intoxicated in a public place.

In Blenheim, police say they were called about a drunk male causing a disturbance.

Police say they found a 19-year-old man in the area of Talbot Street W., around 8pm Saturday night.

The 19-year-old was arrested and taken to headquarters until sober.

He has been charged with being intoxicated in a public place.

Chatham-Kent police have located a vehicle in Chatham that had been reported stolen.

The located vehicle had been towed to a compound for investigation on Saturday around 9am.

The registered owner of the vehicle has been notified.
