Police Briefs – Saturday, May 30, 2015

A man originally arrested for breaking his curfew also faces charges for possession of stolen property in Chatham.

Police say they arrested the suspect from Dover Centre early Friday on Park Ave E for failing to comply with recognizance.

Officers later discovered the suspect was in possession of a stolen bicycle and power tools. A 29-year-old man is now charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.


Police also responded to a disturbance on Wallace St in Wallaceburg Friday night.

There they found one of the people involved to be heavily under the influence of alcohol.

Police later learned the suspect was on a release with conditions to abstain from alcohol consumption.

A 21-year-old Wallaceburg man has been arrested and charged with filing to comply with his undertaking.


Chatham-Kent Police are investigating the theft of several iPhones from a Chatham business.

Officials say a male and female suspect entered a St Clair St store on May 27, stealing iPhones valued at approximately $6300.
