Chatham-Kent police are investigating after a BBQ was stolen from a home in Blenheim.

The black Char Griller, which has a propane and charcoal grill, as well as a smoker, was taken from the Church St. residence around 12:45am on Sunday.

The BBQ is valued at $1,500 US. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

A 46-year old Chatham man is in custody for violating his curfew.

Last week, the man was released from custody with several conditions including the curfew.

Police allege an officer spotted the man at a variety store on Grand Ave. W in Chatham around 1am this morning.

He’s been charged with failing to comply and is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent police held RIDE spot checks in Wallaceburg, Blenheim and Tilbury last night, stopping 157 motorists and issuing four tickets.

About $8,000 worth of items are missing from a home on Sudbury Dr. in Chatham. The items were stolen sometime between Wednesday and Monday.

Meanwhile, jewellery valued at $2,500 was taken from a residence on West St. over the weekend. About $100 in damage was also caused to the home during the break and enter.
