Chatham-Kent police are still looking for a man following a shoplifting incident.

Yesterday afternoon, police say a man and woman left Walmart on St. Clair St. in Chatham without playing for DVDs, batteries and pet supples, worth $260.

A 33-year old woman from Wallaceburg was taken into custody and charged, but the man, a 30-year-old from Walpole Island, fled before police arrived.

An alert citizen gets the credit for catching an alleged thief in Blenheim.

On Wednesday, a homeowner called police after seeing a man loitering around their property on Jane St. carrying a black bag.

Officers say the man had stolen copper piping and electrical wiring worth $100 and caused $500 in damage to the home.

The 22-year-old was located by police last night riding a stolen bicycle. He’s been charged with break and enter, and possession of stolen property.
