Maroons Making Moves To Bolster BluelineDecember 6, 2017 8:13am
The Chatham Maroons are beefing up their blueline as they start the second half of their season with a game in LaSalle Wednesday.
Over the past two days, the Maroons have added two new defencemen: 18-year-old Dawson Garcia from the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL), and 17-year-old Tyler Beneteau from the Sarnia Legionnaires.
Despite just joining the team this week, both players could be in the lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Vipers.
A release from the Maroons says Beneteau is expected to suit up with the team for the game, while Garcia joined the Maroons for a practice Tuesday night at Memorial Arena in Chatham.
Beneteau had 12 assists through 22 games with the Legionnaires this season and spent the last two seasons with the Windsor Jr Spitfires AAA Midget teams.
Garcia put up one goal and eight assists for nine points through 26 games that he split between the Elliot Lake Wildcats and the Rayside-Balfour Canadians in the NOJHL this year.

Puck drop is set for 7pm at the Vollmer Recreation Complex in LaSalle.
