The 2017 GOJHL Showcase ended Sunday at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre in Brantford.
Griffin Robinson scored the game winner in the Leamington Flyers' 4-3 overtime win over the Waterloo Siskins, splitting the Flyers' record in the showcase that begins the junior B regular season.
The Flyers fought back from a 3-0 hole. Waterloo scored one goal in the first period and two in the second before Leamington got on the scoreboard on Blake Bain's shorthanded tally.
Zach Guilbeault and Cody Schneider scored in the third period for the Flyers, both on the power-play, forcing overtime and Robinson's sudden-death winner.
Connor Meyerink had 41 saves out of 44 tries for the Flyers, who begin their home season Thursday night against the LaSalle Vipers.

Chayse Herrfort scored twice for the Listowel Cyclones as they beat the ,LaSalle Vipers 5-2.
Herrfort opened the scoring in the first period, and Listowel added two more goals in the second period, off the sticks of Mitch Deelstra and Caleb Warren. The Vipers scored two more goals before the end of the middle period, when Brett Vorshuk and Brendan Soto connected and left the Cyclones with a 3-2 lead at the second intermission.
Holdyn Lansink and Herrfort stretched the lead for Listowel in the final frame.
Dershahn Stewart took the loss in goal for LaSalle with 19 shots saved out of 24. The Vipers kick off their home season Wednesday night when the London Nationals visit the Vollmer Complex.

Two second period goals would be all the Sarnia Legionnaires needed as they beat the Fort Erie Meteors 2-1. After a scoreless first period, the goals came from the sticks of Aaron Jamieson and Jamie Vince. Fort Erie's Brady Lee scored with 1:27 left in regulation to cut the lead in half but that would be it.
There were 20 penalties total in the contest. Sarnia had 11 penalties for 30 minutes, while the Meteors had 34 minutes in the sin bin over nine infractions.
Blair Coffin stopped all but one of Fort Erie's 26 shots in goal. The Legionnaires come home Thursday to open the home season against the Komoka Kings.

Spencer Allen scored twice for the Strathroy Rockets, but they fell against the Pelham Panthers 4-3.
Pelham scored first with the only goal in the opening period, from Noah Caperchione. The 1-0 lead held through the intermission, then the Rockets' T.J. Harris had the equalizer. Bailey Stumpo's goal put the Panthers ahead but Allen's first goal of the contest tied the score again with a power play goal.
Pelham scored two back-to-back goals in the third for a 4-2 lead. Allen pulled Strathroy within one again but that would be as close as they would get.
Joshua Diamond faced 29 Panthers shots and stopped 25 of them in the loss. The Rockets travel to St. Thomas Friday night.
