Muharrem Races On

Chatham-Kent Secondary School student James Muharrem's run at OFSAA gold will continue in three events.

He finished third in the senior boys' 400m hurdles (56.35 seconds), fifth in the senior boys' 110m hurdles (14.46) -- but qualified after a runner ahead of him scratched, and his team came fourth in the open boys' 4x400m relay (3:28.08) at the OFSAA West Regional track and field meet in London.

The top four in each event will go on to compete at the OFSAA meet in Belleville from Thursday to Saturday.

Cougars Post Double Shutout

The Chatham-Kent Cougars opened their season with a pair of shutout wins over the weekend.

The Peewee's defeated the Vaughn Rebels 32-0 while the the Bantam's defeated the Forest City Thunderbirds 18-0.
