The Chatham Maroons have made some moves to shore up their team and the coach says he's not done yet.
The team has signed 5' 9' Eric Carter who played for the Dresden Jr. Kings last season and 6' Dane Johnstone who split last season between the Flint Firebirds and the St. Thomas Stars.
Also joining the Maroons are 6' 2" Grant Spence who played this past season with the Chatham-Kent Cyclones and 5' 9' Alex Saliba who played last season for the Wheatley Sharks.
Coach Ron Horvat says Johnstone's OHL experience is an asset.
"I know what I'm getting when I get Dane. He's a hard worker and with that OHL experience I think it's going to benefit us too down the road," says Horvat.
Coach Horvat says Carter will be a welcome addition to the team.
Right defenceman Dylan Schives of the Cyclones is also joining the team.
Horvat says Spence brings offence to the table.
"He has a great quick release and a great shot. He knows what he's doing in the offensive zone. You want him to play a two way game and he will do that playing at this level," the coach says.
Horvat says Saliba has lots of skill.
"Natural centreman by trade, you can just tell. Works hard and wins faceoffs and again a two way player," Horvat says.
