Flyers Beat Vipers 7-2, Even Series

Griffin Robinson got a hat trick as the Leamington Flyers beat the LaSalle Vipers 7-2 in Game 4 of their GOJHL semifinal playoff series.

The Flyers even the best-of-series at two games apiece.  The hat trick pushes Robinson's playoff point total to ten.

Liam MacDougall got the Vipers on the board first at 8:27 of the opening period.   Less than a minute after that, the Flyers tied up the game on a score by Josh Pope-Ferguson.  Leamington took the lead just before the end of the frame, and would not relinquish it the rest of the game, on Robinson's first goal of the game.

Robinson picked up his second goal in the middle period for that frame's only score, increasing the Leamington lead to 3-1.

The Flyers extended their lead to 4-1 just 20 seconds into the third period on a Zach Guibeault goal, though the Vipers answered back over three minutes later with a goal from Zach Hoffman.  Leamington then scored three more goals throughout the rest of regulation.  Pope-Ferguson scored his second of the game unassisted, followed later in the frame by a score from Liam Hogan.  Robinson completed his hat trick with 1:17 left in the game.

Connor Meyerink picked up the win in goal for the Flyers, knocking away 40 out of 42 Vipers shots.  Eli Billing had 28 saves in goal for LaSalle.

Game 5 is Wednesday night at the Vollmer Complex.  Puck drop is scheduled for 7pm.
