Jr. Hockey Wrap Up – January 18, 2017

The Leamington Flyers dropped a 4-1 decision to the LaSalle Vipers in GOJHL action on Wednesday.

Nathan Savage led LaSalle with two goals, while Manny Silverio and Jack Bowler both scored once.

Brett Vorshuk scored Leamington's only goal.

The Flyers are at home ice on Thursday to take on the Strathroy Rockets at 7:10pm. And then on Friday, the Vipers head to St. Thomas to battle the Stars. Puck drop is at 7:30pm.

As well, the London Nationals fell 5-2 to the St. Thomas Stars.

Isaiah Payne and Austin Kemp scored the two goals for London.

The Nationals will face off against the Lincolns in St. Marys on Friday at 7:30pm.

And in the PJHL, the Essex 73's shutout the Wallaceburg Lakers 5-0.

Clay Kraynack, Matthew Rosati, Luke Gecse, Brett Smith and Adam Gaiarin all scored once for Essex.

The Lakers are back on the ice on Friday as they head to Lakeshore to take on the Canadiens at 7pm. And then on January 24 at 7pm, the 73's are at home against the Amherstburg Admirals.

And the Lakeshore Canadiens edged the Mooretown Flags 5-4.

Kyler Carter was top scorer for Lakeshore with two goals. Mejoe Gasparovic, JJ Percy and Joe Binder also scored.

The Canadiens will play the Wallaceburg Lakers next on Friday. The puck drops at 7pm at the Atlas Tube Centre.
