Maroons Tame the Predators 10-3

Bryce Yetman scored four times as the Chatham Maroons dominated the Lambton Shores Predators 10-3 Sunday night.

The Maroons are currently in third place in the GOJHL Western Conference standings with 51 points.  The Predators are in last place with 17 points.

The Predators got on the board first when Andrew Kim scored an unassisted goal at 3:16 in the opening period.  Since then, the Maroon attack began and did not let up through the period, scoring four straight goals.   Yetman got the first two back-to-back, the first at 5:22 and the other at 8:59.  The other two Maroons goals in the first period came off the sticks of Kevin Gursoy and Josh King.

The score was stuck at 4-1 Chatham until 17:42 of the second period, when Teddy McGeen extended the lead.  Yetman completed his hat trick 40 seconds later for a 6-1 Maroons lead, though the Predators' Jake Desando would get that goal back with 17 seconds left in the period.

The Maroons scored three more times in succession in the third period.  Bobby Harrison joined the party with a goal at 6:42, and Brendan D'Agostino made the score 8-2 with a goal of his own 57 seconds later.  Yetman scored his fourth goal of the night for good measure at 10:18.  Kyle Fisher picked up Lambton Shores' third goal later in the period, but Nolan VandenBoorn gave the Maroons the ten-spot to end the game.

Chatham outshot the Predators 48-33.  Lucas Patton was the winner for the Maroons, while Cameron MacAlpine and Tynan Lauziere worked between the pipes in a losing effort for Lambton Shores.

The Maroons are off until next Sunday night when the Sarnia Legionnaires visit Memorial Arena.  The Predators visit Sarnia on Thursday night.
