Chatham-Kent native Travis Konecny picked up with 11th assist of the season in the Philadelphia Flyers 6-5 win over the Edmonton Oilers.

That puts him in seventh place in the rookie scoring race with 16pts in 29 games -- Winnipeg's Patrick Laine tops the list with 25pts in 30 games.

Elsewhere -- the Calgary Flames needed overtime to secure a 2-1 victory over Arizona -- the Rangers beat the Winnipeg Jets 2-1 -- the Montreal Canadiens got by New Jersey 5-2 -- and the Vancouver Canucks topped Tampa Bay 5-1.

In the NBA -- The Toronto Raptors keep rolling. Kyle Lowry had 25 points and 11 assists as Toronto topped the Minnesota Timberwolves 124-110 -- that's the Raptors' seventh win in their last eight games.

In the NFL -- Tyreek Hill scored two touchdowns as the Kansas City Chiefs pulled into a virtual tie with the Raiders with a 21-13 win against Oakland in the NFL's Thursday Nighter.

The Chiefs hold the advantage in the standings because they beat the Raiders in both of their matchups this season.

Penny Oleksiak won bronze in the 100-metre freestyle at the FINA world swimming championships in Windsor. The 16-year-old won gold in the event at the Olympics this summer.
