Sports Briefs - November 2, 2016

The Chicago Cubs have forced a Game 7 in the World Series following a 9-3 victory over the Cleveland Indians.

Addison Russell hit a grand slam and drove in a record-tying six runs for the Cubs. The deciding game goes tonight in Cleveland.

The first pitch is set for 8pm.

Nazem Kadri scored two goals -- including the overtime winner -- as the Maple Leafs edged Edmonton 3-2 in Toronto. Kadri's second goal was just 12 seconds into OT.

Meanwhile -- Kyle Turris scored the overtime winner as the Senators beat Carolina 2-1 in Ottawa -- the Blackhawks got past the Calgary Flames 5-1 -- Washington edged the Winnipeg Jets 3-2 -- and the Buffalo Sabres have won three straight after getting by Minnesota 2-1.

In Junior B hockey -- the first place Leamington Flyers lost 2-1 to Sarnia in double overtime.

In Junior C action -- Amherstburg beat Essex 7-5.

The Detroit Pistons held the New York Knicks to 10 points in the fourth quarter en route to a 102-89 win.

And, the Cavaliers beat Houston 128-120 after moving their game time up so they go to watch the Indians play in game 6 of the World Series.
