More Trouble For Kassian

A day after getting into a serious motor vehicle accident, LaSalle native and NHLer Zack Kassian has been suspended without pay from the NHL.

TSN's Bob McKenzie was one of the first on twitter with the announcement. Kassian is being enrolled in the NHL-NHLPA joint Substance Abuse and Behavorial Health Program.

Stage one of the league's program allows players to remain on the payroll while in the program, but can be upgraded to no pay in stage two. Later on, the CBC's Douglas Gelevan tweeted out the NHL's official release on the issue.

Kassian is a former Windsor Spitfire and Leamington Flyer. He was a part of the Montreal Canadiens roster at the time of the announcement.
