Domestic violence charges laid
A 28-year-old Chatham man is facing four charges in connection with a domestic abuse investigation.
Chatham-Kent police said a woman walked into police headquarters Monday night to report that she was the victim of domestic abuse.
Following that, early Tuesday morning, police arrested a man in connection with the case and charged him with one count of confinement and three counts of assault.
He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Fire at Wallaceburg storage facility
Chatham-Kent police are investigating a fire at Wallaceburg Mini Storage that broke out late Monday night.
Emergency crews responded to the scene on Gillard Street and police said several units were damaged as a result of the fire.

Chainsaws, sawzall stolen from shed
Some power tools and some fishing equipment have been reported stolen after a shed was broken into in Chatham.
Police said sometime between Saturday and Monday, someone forced their way into a shed on Willowmac Avenue and took off with three chainsaws, a battery charger, a sawzall, a saw, three fishing rods, and various other tools.
The total value of the theft is estimated at $1,500.

Suspect smashes door during break-in
Chatham-Kent police are trying to track down a suspect after someone tried to break into a home on Mercer Street in Chatham.
Police said someone smashed the front door of a home sometime between 5 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. on Monday, causing about $1,000 in damage.
