Maroons head to Sarnia to face Legionnaires

The Chatham Maroons will head north on Highway 40 Thursday night for their first road game of the season.

The Maroons opened the season with a big 7-1 win at home against the Strathroy Rockets, but they can expect a tougher test in Sarnia as they take on the Legionnaires.

Sarnia is off to a 2-0 start to the season after opening with a 7-2 win over Komoka and a 4-3 overtime win over Leamington.

Puck drop is set for 7:10 p.m. at Sarnia Arena.

You can hear the game live on-air by tuning in to Country 92.9FM/630AM CFCO or you can listen online by clicking here.

Quick Stats:

- Neither team has allowed a power-play goal yet this season -- Chatham's penalty killers are 5-for-5 while Sarnia is 13-for-13

- The Maroons spread their offence around in their first game with six different goal scorers finding the back of the net in their 7-1 win over Strathroy -- one of those goals was previously credited to Thomas Michaud, but that has now been attributed to Dane Johnstone (he was the only Maroon to score twice in the game)

- Sarnia split its first two games between two different goaltenders -- Nolan DeKoning (2.87 GAA, .875 SV% and Jacob Knowles 2.00 GAA, .957 SV%)

- Thursday night's game is Sarnia's third straight home game to open the season
