Children's Treatment Centre receives $70K gift

The Chatham-Kent Children’s Treatment Centre (CTC) Foundation is cashing in a $70,000 donation from some local auto dealerships.

The Lally Auto Group’s four Chatham locations, which include Victory Ford, Chatham Chrysler, Lally Kia, and Chatham Mazda, made the donation Wednesday. The Lally Auto Group is no stranger to helping out the CTC Foundation, as it has been involved with popular fundraisers such as the Festival of Giving, Over the Edge, and Festival of Golf.

“We are incredibly proud to be able to support and sponsor the CTC," said Operations Manager Adam Lally in a statement. "The work that they do for children in our community is truly special and important.”

The CTC Foundation has been raising funds to support its Butterfly Building Campaign, an effort to have a new facility that will meet the needs of children and youth members.

"The demand for specialized therapy for children and youth with special needs is growing in Chatham-Kent," the foundation said in a statement issued Wednesday. "One in nine CK children access the CTC-CK for physiotherapy, speech therapy, audiology, adapted recreation, music therapy, social work, occupational therapy, autism services, and respite."

The latest donation helps the CTC Foundation in its $6-million fundraising goal. Money raised locally will trigger provincial funding for a new facility.
